Privacy policy

Effective November 7, 2026

Snugo does not sell or rent your data, and never will. We use your information only to run the service you asked for. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.

We never sell your data

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising by others. A few service providers help us run Snugo, such as hosting, a database, email delivery and bank linking. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.

Linking your bank is your choice

We use Plaid to link your bank and other outside accounts. You choose which accounts to link, you see what is shared before you agree, and you can disconnect any account from the app at any time. When you link an account, Plaid handles your bank sign in. Snugo never sees or stores your bank password. Plaid's own privacy policy explains how Plaid handles your information.

What we collect

  • Who you are: your name, email address and the details the law requires us to check before you can use money features.
  • Linked accounts: account names, balances and transactions from the accounts you choose to link, only what the features you use need.
  • Your activity on Snugo: what you buy, sell, send and receive, your goals and budgets, and your settings.
  • Waitlist details: your email address, the app you use now if you tell us, how you found us, and when you joined, confirmed or unsubscribed.
  • Device and safety details: your browser type and a scrambled code made from your IP address, used only to stop spam, fraud and fake referrals. We never store the address itself.
  • Visits to this site: simple counts of visits and actions, with privacy friendly analytics that use no cookies and don't follow you around the web.

How we use it

  • To run the features you use, such as your balances, budgets, goals and payments.
  • To keep your account and money safe, and to meet the rules that apply to us.
  • To send you messages about your account and, if you agree, news about Snugo. You can stop news emails at any time.
  • To answer your questions and complaints.

No AI training on your data

Your data is never used to train AI models, by Snugo or by our AI provider. When you use Ask Snugo, our guide sees summaries and categories only, never account numbers, routing numbers, access codes or passwords.

Who at Snugo can see it

Staff see member data only when their job needs it, and every look is logged.

How long we keep it

Some records must be kept by law, such as identity and transaction records. We keep those for at least 5 years. Everything else is deleted when you close your account, once any legal hold allows. Waitlist details are kept until you ask us to delete them or we close the waitlist.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time. Email justin@getsnugo.com and we'll reply within 30 days. We delete everything the law doesn't require us to keep, and we tell you what we had to keep and why.

Keeping it safe

Your information is encrypted when it travels and when it is stored. Access is limited, protected by passkeys, and logged.

Your privacy notice

When money features open, you'll get a privacy notice when you sign up and every year after, as the Gramm Leach Bliley Act requires. We honor the privacy rights your state gives you.

Children

Snugo is for adults. If you are under 18, please don't sign up.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell you by email before the change takes effect.
